A message from incoming President Dorman

Printer-friendly versionSend to friend

We were excited to learn from Chancellor Huckaby on Friday that the Board of Regents had finalized their decision and that we would soon be joining the Georgia College community. Thanks to many of you who have already reached out to offer your congratulations and support as we embark on this new venture.

I hope you will join me in offering thanks to Dr. Stas Preczewski for his willingness to serve as interim President for the campus during this transition year. By all accounts, he has provided superb leadership, and I am sure you will want to express your thanks to him as he leaves to return to his home campus.  We are thankful also to Dr. Paul Jones for his willingness to serve as interim President until we arrive on campus the first of September.

Please be assured we will do what is necessary so that this transition has minimal impact on the start of the fall semester.

Once again, thanks for your kind notes of welcome and offers of assistance. Janie and I are looking forward to becoming Bobcats and meeting all of the faculty, staff and students that make up Georgia College.

We hope to see you soon,

Steve Dorman
