CEO Magazine has selected the Georgia WebMBA® program as a top-tier online MBA program, one of only 26 schools selected worldwide.

The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College is one of the founding members of the Georgia WebMBA® program.

“This is an accurate reflection of the quality of our students and faculty,” said Dr. Matthew Liao-Troth, Dean of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business.

The Georgia WebMBA® program began in 2001 and has grown from about 30 students to more than 400, including 60 Georgia College students.

CEO Magazine’s tier-one status schools demonstrate a high level of innovation and thought leadership, according to the online magazine. Class sizes are moderate and senior faculty members conduct the courses. Other universities with web-based MBA programs to achieve CEO Magazine’s top status include Thunderbird School of Global Management, Duke University, Babson College and Penn State.

The Georgia WebMBA® program also is ranked among the top 30 most affordable online MBA programs accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). recently ranked the Georgia WebMBA® program as No. 1 in student satisfaction and No. 2 for public perception of 382 qualified schools.

The Georgia WebMBA® program is a cohort-based, 21-month accelerated program to earn a master’s degree in business administration. Five Georgia College business faculty members regularly participate, including Management Information Systems professor Dr. Howard Woodard who earned the Georgia WebMBA® Teacher of the Year award last fall.

Other University System of Georgia schools forming the consortium include Columbus State University, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University, University of West Georgia and Valdosta State University.

“One of our distinctive competencies relative to other consortium schools is our ability to provide individualized attention and professional advising services,” Liao-Troth said.
