Award-winning NBC exec visits campus

Dean McFlickerDean McFlickerDean McFlicker, awarding-winning Hollywood and Broadway producer, director and choreographer, visits Georgia College at 6 p.m. Monday, June 17, in the Arts and Sciences Auditorium.

The event is free and open to the public.

“Students and community members in any field will gain techniques to market themselves for career advancement, especially in new media,” said Dr. Karen Berman, chair of Georgia College Department of Theatre. “Those interested in the entertainment industry will get specialized information to help them follow their dreams.”

McFlicker’s hourlong talk, “Secrets to Career Success,” discusses personal branding; gives the inside scoop about the industry; and offers real-world tools and techniques for quick advancement in any field.

Currently, McFlicker serves as vice president of Alternative Programming Promotion and Special Projects at NBC Universal.

He has produced for some of TV’s most popular shows, including “Law & Order,” “ER” and “America’s Got Talent.”

He also has worked with stars such as Tina Turner, Betty White, Michael J. Fox, Jennifer Aniston and Carrie Underwood.

“Mr. McFlicker brings an unparalleled perspective,” said Berman. “This opportunity can help lead students to their own career achievements and future success.”
