Dr. Jeffrey Blick's recent archaeological research in the Bahamas appears in the publication, "Human Impacts on a Small Island Ecosystem: Lessons from the Lucayans of San Salvador, Bahamas for This Island Earth," as Chapter 7 in The Functioning of Ecosystems (2012). The anthropology professor and Dr. Eric Kjellmark of Florida Southern College, Lakeland, Fla., gained a permit from Gerace Research Centre to conduct lake sediment cores on San Salvador, researching the effects of climate change and human impacts on the island during the prehistoric period, ca. 1000 B.C.-A.D. 1492, up to the English colonial period, ca. 1780.
